King Kong: Legend of a Boxer
Between 2017 and 2018 Sipumzo had the honour of being on the creative of the hit revival of Todd Matshikiza's King Kong. The show would go on to win numerous awards and garner our director his first Naledi Awards nomination for his work as the musical director. Watch the promo here.
Soweto Uprising: The Aftermath
Later titled "Imivumba YamaQhawe" the production of the youth opera is one of the highlights of Sipumzo's career. Working with two schools in Khayelitsha, Chris Hand Arts and Culture School as well as Lathi-tha LSEN School of skills, our director was able to help bring life to stories from our past.
